When you think of spinach, I am pretty sure we all think about the comics and cartoon character Popeye the Sailor Man, who becomes a lot stronger after eating it and is ready to fight the bad guys.
But what exactly is that green leafy thing called spinach?
Spinach leaves are sold loose, packaged fresh in bags, canned, or frozen. If you leave spinach in your kitchen for a long time it will lose its nutritional value and that is why it’s good to put it in the fridge if you’re not planning to use it as soon as you buy it.
People who are trying to lose weight will be very pleased to hear that, spinach is low in fat and even lower in cholesterol. It’s loaded with things, that are really good for every part of your body! It’s important not only for your skin and hair, but for your bones as well. They are also very rich in protein, iron, vitamins, and minerals.
The amazing health benefits of eating spinach include improving diabetes, lowering the risk of cancer and asthma, reducing blood pressure and improving bone health.
